The Art of Self Care for Nurses – 6 hour Day Program

Nurses are known to be among the most devoted, caring and trustworthy of any profession. However, since the 1950’s, stress has become a major occupational hazard leading to “burnout”… and it seems to be increasing exponentially. Between the demands of patient care, the intensity of decision-making, the increasing load of responsibility and endless change, nurses are experiencing higher and higher levels of anxiety and stress. This workshop highlights the nature of stress and the impact of physical health, the importance of a mind-body-emotion-spirit approach to managing stress and includes several time-tested coping and relaxation tools. Weaving mind-body techniques, art therapy, humor therapy and guided visualization into this workshop, I will create an informative, connecting and experiential process to help support nurses’ resilience, personal growth and professional development.
